Cingular triples Q2 profit to $540 million

Cingular Wireless LLC, the largest cellphone service provider in the U.S., reported its second quarter profit more than tripled to $540 million from $147 million recorded in the corresponding previous year quarter. Atlanta-based Cingular, which is a joint venture of BellSouth Corporation and AT&T Inc, said it added more subscribers at a faster pace and its churn rate was minimal.Save to My Web
